Give Thanks

As we sit around the breakfast nook this morning my wife, Maria-Rosa shared with me her recent sticker shock after visiting Costco to replenish our cupboard of the bare necessity’s such as cereal, milk, eggs, fruit, vegetables and meats for the next two weeks! We make it a point to have a list, be precise and not get caught up in the Costco stimulus buying scheme. Even with these precaution’s our cost at the checkout counter was more than thirty percent more than normal.

We then began to think about how this turned down economy is affecting those who are less fortunate than us both in this country and around the world. She choked up and cried!

It is indeed tough times in our country and in the world. Man, through his ambition, lawlessness, selfishness and lack of Godliness have brought our world to the brink of total destruction and moral meltdown. Jesus said that the poor we would have with us always however, we are not to become desensitized to their suffering and their needs. We are to always approach the issue of poverty from the standpoint of, “But by the Grace of God go I.”

The good news is that Jesus states that “When you see these signs look up for your redemption draweth nigh.” Hallelujah!

Those of us who are blessed, who woke up this morning with Gods breath of life flowing through our lungs, the ability to move our legs, arms, see with our eyes, hear with our ears, hold with our hands, have a roof over our heads, clothes on our backs, food on our table children and grandchildren safe and in good health give Abba a SHOUT of thanksgiving with the sacrifice of Praise with the air He’s given us to breathe, for this is the day the Lord has made I shall rejoice and be glad in it!

Have a Great Weekend!
