The Season For Thanksgiving

November 4, 2011

A Thanksgiving Message from Pastor Bob

The Bible says: “Be thankful unto Him and bless His Name for the Lord is good and His mercy endureth forever.”

This coming Sunday will begin the celebration of the uniquely American holiday called Thanksgiving.  It was born in our history when William Bradford called together the brave souls who landed at Plymouth Rock months earlier and who had endured starvation, disease and Indian attacks.

From the date of their landing until the first Thanksgiving more than half of the pilgrims had died and Bradford believed it was essential for the survivors to give thanks to God for His provision.  Peace had been made with the Indians who taught the settlers how to plant corn and to carry on in this new and rugged land.

On that first Thanksgiving morning more than two centuries ago, William Bradford began the celebration by giving thanks to God in prayer and then passing out to each pilgrim one kernel of corn as a symbol of God’s provision.

It was without doubt the first time the Bible concept of “seed time and harvest” was presented to believers in America.  The single kernel of corn reminded them of how little they had in the beginning while the table laden with delicious food reminded them of God’s gift of abundance.

I am so thankful for God’s gift of abundance and for His faithfulness.  His many blessings along with the sacrificial support from wonderful people like you have made it possible for me to fulfill the Holy Spirit’s call on my life to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ for almost a half century!

And by God’s amazing grace and your sacrificial giving, Christ Meat of The Word Sanctuary 7 Fellowship will build His Sanctuary and reach millions of Mormons to bring them into the Kingdom and the perfect liberty of our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus.   We will not stop or settle for nothing less than snatching as many as possible from the gates of Hell and planted them solidly in the Kingdom!

I am convinced that the only way to bring Utah and the world back to the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the uncompromised preaching of the Word of God.  As society grows darker, the light of the gospel shines brighter bringing hope to the lost. I am so grateful to God in heaven, for each and every one of you who are helping us reach the people of Utah with the eternal hope found only in the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I want to thank you from the depth of my heart for every gift you have given or will give, every prayer you have prayed and for every soul that has been saved because of YOUR FAITHFULNESS!

May the Lord God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob bless you beyond measure as you celebrate this Thanksgiving and Christmas holiday season with your family and loved ones.   May His joy, peace and prosperity fill your hearts and home in Jesus Name we Pray and Ask this.  Amen
