Promises of God

August 18, 2012

On this Sabbath as I was reading my devotions and I came across the passage in Scripture where the two were walking on the road to Emmaus and were sadden in their hearts and Jesus came alongside of them and asked “what kind of conversation is this that you have with one another as you walk and are sad?” The things that stood out in this passage to me was one: Jesus reprimanded them on two counts by saying “O foolish ones and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!” And two: Jesus began to quote everything about Himself that the Scriptures spoke of beginning with the Old Testament all the way up to the New Testament.

This was very poignant to me because it shows how we are to receive all of the blessings that are set aside for us by searching all of Scripture where we find Jesus is concealed in the OT and Revealed in the NT. And through Typology we see how Jesus was the nourishment, the bread, physician, healer and Jehovah Jireh, their provider for all of their substance and abundance as long as His covering was not lifted! In the NT we find that He is our nourishment, the Bread of Life that came down from Heaven, He is our Healer for by His stripes we are healed as the bronze serpent which was lifted up in the OT symbolizing judgment yet healed the people of the snake bites when they looked up, Jesus lifted up on the cross was judged for our sins symbolizes our permanent state of being healed, whole and being as He is at the right hand of the Father so are we never to lift His covering from us, Hallelujah!

He paid the price and penalty for our sins which we committed yesterday, today and forever He paid for it all! Glory to God.

What is it you need? Do you need healing, health, substance, wealth abundance! Whatever your need is today, your solution is found in a greater revelation of Jesus! Search the Scriptures, Renew your mind and you will find Jesus and sweet rest for your Soul! We as Christians don’t have to wish that Jesus will appear to us or answer our prayers, He already Has! You can find the answer to all that you will ever need from Him in the Scriptures! Don’t be like the two on the road to Emmaus foolish and slow of heart to believe, Hallelujah! Take what is yours already and tell the Devil he’s a liar! Hallelujah

Don’t look at yourself, your afflictions or your disease. I admonish you today to Look at Jesus and you will live! The author and finisher of our Faith.
